Crane Composites Supports Local Charities

  • Crane Composites Sponsors Donations of $125,000 to Local Charities Again in 2022
  • 35 Organizations Which Provide Direct Assistance to Underserved in the Communities
  • 6 New Organizations Added Due to Changing Needs During Pandemic

CHANNAHON, IL, April 13th, 2022 – Crane Composites, a subsidiary of Crane Co., recently presented 35 local charity organizations with donations from the Crane Fund for Widows and Children as part of their long-standing and valued tradition of supporting local communities. Each year, Crane Composites sponsors donations to organizations having personal connection to their associates. Individuals from each site in Channahon, IL, Goshen, IN, Florence, KY, and Jonesboro, AR, nominate local organizations that have positively impacted their lives or the communities in which they work.

“Being involved in the community where we live and work and supporting those in need has been a hallmark of Crane’s storied philanthropic platform for more than 100 years” said John O’Sullivan, President. “These donations have been particularly important over the past two years as organizations around the world are faced with pandemic related restrictions and associated economic hardships.”

Crane Co has a rich history and legacy of over 100 years of charitable giving through three company-administered charitable entities: The Crane Fund, The Crane Fund for Widows and Children, and the Crane Foundation. In 1904, R.T. Crane said “a loyal employee gives something besides his labor and the employer should recognize that fact,” and toward the end of his life he set aside one million dollars as a fund for “the purpose of taking care of my men”. Two years after R.T. Crane’s death, members of his family honored his wish by establishing The Crane Fund to “provide a means for giving support to deserving and needy employees after they have, by reason of age or disability, become unable to engage in active work”. Separately, The Crane Fund for Widows and Children makes contributions to charitable organizations that provide direct assistance to underserved populations in the communities where Crane Co. operates. This fund touches the lives of many through its donations to support global relief agencies, and school and scholarship funds in the United States and Canada.

Crane Composites’ City Works Brings Urban Edge to Wall Panels

Channahon, IL (March 29, 2019) — Crane Composites is introducing a metropolitan, yet weathered, style to commercial wall panels with the new City Works collection. Part of the company’s DESIGNS fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) wall panel line, City Works delivers unique patterns influenced by commuter touchpoints people see on their way to work. The collection features patterns that mimic elements of metal, stone, wood and concrete.

Inspired by commuter icons around the United States like bridges, by-ways, ferries and subways, City Works includes 10 photography based patterns: Colfax, Union, Skyway, Staten, Burlington, LaSalle, Sumner, Franklin, Mover, and Westpark. The panels are available in 4’x8′ and 4’x10′ sizes.

With endless options, Crane Composites’ DESIGNS wall panels go way beyond the traditional white bumpy board. They add unique color, depth and dimension to walls, without sacrificing durability and lifecycle costs. All DESIGNS products provide stain, abrasion and moisture resistance for walls. They are mold and mildew free and meet USDA/FSIS requirements. Plus, the panels are easy to clean and easy to install.

Crane Composites Expands Decorative Wall Panel Palette & Patterns

Channahon, IL (January 24, 2019) — New year, new space, new wallcoverings. In the past 15 months, Crane Composites has introduced 53 new design patterns and colors. This included 30 new VARIETEX colors and 23 new DESIGNS patterns. Delivering both style and durability, these resilient wallcoverings offer endless options for most any commercial space.

VARIETEX and DESIGNS wall panels deliver the look needed for today’s projects, with the durability you would expect with an FRP composite, Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic. To ensure a high-end sophisticated look, Crane Composites worked closely with design industry professionals to develop the new color palettes. The wall panels are available in a wide range of styles, or a custom look can be created in any design, including company logos. The new collections add unique color, depth and dimension to walls, without sacrificing durability and lifecycle costs.

The new DESIGNS collections include Heartland, Runway and Forest. The Heartland collection is inspired by the patterns, rows and textures of America’s farmland – something manmade from the beauty of nature. The patterns in this collection are named after small rural counties in the heartland. Runway was also created from the idea of tapestries, but those we find in clothing and woven fabrics. As such, each pattern in the Runway collection is named from garment and fashion districts around the world. Getting back to nature, the Forest collection reflects the beauty of the wood found in America’s timberlands.

Available in two patterns, the new VARIETEX collections come in a rainbow of many colors, all inspired by the natural world. The color palette of the Sands collection was taken from the sandy shades of beaches around the globe. Also designed to reflect the colors of the coast, the Keys collection features a range of bright tropical hues, like those in the Florida Keys. Influenced by national parks in the west, the colors in the Parks collection include both earthen tones and some that are more intense.

According to Drew Franzen, Vice President of Crane Building Products, “Our latest DESIGNS and VARIETEX collections are the most sophisticated yet, providing commercial designers and specifiers with stylish, yet still dependable, options for wallcoverings. They were created to echo the natural wonders we’re bound to protect, and in turn protecting the walls of most any commercial space for years to come.” In 2019, the company also plans to launch additional patterns within the DESIGNS product line in spring and fall.
